Logi Marguerite is a single-story stone-built house, stands in its own small
garden, with swimming pool and plenty of room to sunbathe and relax .
The house is about 120 sq. meters in area with 1 double and two single bedrooms,
large w.c. shower. and a large lounge (35 sq. meters)
Logi Marguerite is a detached holiday home with all services, set in its own
garden. It is part of a property which is one of five farms in a commune set in
a quiet area of un-spoilt Deux-Sevres
The Futuroscope at Poitiers, and the lovely beaches of the Vendee coast are an
easy drive away.
Logi Marguerite is situated near the large town of Bressuire, which almost
directly west of Poitiers on the map.
Logi Marguerite stands apart from the farmhouse, the main house on the property
The property is one off 6 farms forming a small commune called 'La Richardiere',
so called because Richard the Lion Heart rested in the area on his way to the
Holy Land during the Crusades.
A small supermarket in the nearby village is less than 5 mins away Most shops
are open to 7 30 pm, but watch out for the 2 hour lunch time break in smaller
places (often garages close as well)
There are local open and covered swimming pools, two local riding schools, local
fishing for trout and perch ,with many rivers and lakes (This needs a license,
but it lets you fish anywhere) .
There are two local Tennis courts, and many areas of tourist and historical
interest. Hiking and walking is easy. there is little traffic , and there are
many historical Chateaux , windmills. churches, and little towns to explore as
well as woodland .
Although your holiday home is quiet and out-of the-way, hyper market shopping
and other amenities are only 10 min away in the town of Bressuire, A market is
held on Tuesdays, and there is an 11 th - century Chateau which can be visited.
as well as tempting cake shops!
In the Summer, there are many local fetes at the weekend in small villages, at
which you will feel completely at home There is dancing. music, food. beer and
wine.
Larger centers such as Cholet and Niort are about 45 min drive Many tourist
locations and picturesque towns are 'with in easy traveling distance, and the
'Future scope' near Poitiers (about 1 hrs drive) is worth at least one day's
visit, Towards the west the coast offers resorts such as La Rochelle, Sable
d'Olonne, and many small, unspoiled beaches within easy reach ( about 1.5
hours). To the North is Saumur and the Loire valley, and to the South the
Dordogne, making this holiday home an excellent centre to explore from.
Driving is a pleasure in this area - good, straight roads with little traffic It
is completely different from the UK - relax and enjoy the drive! Fuel is
cheapest at Supermarkets - you'll see signs in towns directing you to them You
usually fill up, then pay at a drive-by window as you leave.
The area to the west is well known for seafood. oysters, mussels. eels etc. ,
but a whole variety of tastes is catered for There are many restaurants close by
offering international, ordinary, and good French-style food, and you can choose
the sort off food you like without problems .A good bet for lunch is the
fixed-price 'Menu', which you will see outside restaurants 10 euros buys a
four-course meal, usually with some choice , and sometimes with wine included .

The people in this area are natural and friendly, and you will find a great deal
of tolerance and patience in helping you if you have little or no French .
